Exsel Hôtels supports the 16th GIP RAMSAR Seminar
The Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, better known as the Ramsar Convention, is an international treaty which advocates the conservation and wise use of wetlands. It is the only global treaty covering a single ecosystem.
The 16th Annual Seminar for French Ramsar Site Stakeholders was held from May 20 to 25, 2024 in Saint-Paul, on Reunion Island, near the Étang de Saint-Paul Ramsar site. ¨
For this occasion, our Exsel Alamanda and Ermitage hotels, responsible and eco-labeled hotels, accommodated members of the RAMSAR congress and La Réserve Naturelle de France.
The theme of the RAMSAR 2024 congress: “Restoration of wetlands”, a theme was explored through sessions on the management of exotic species, climate change, coastal erosion, and citizen mobilization. The seminar also welcomed 60 to 70 Ramsar site managers from the southwest Indian Ocean. The week concluded on May 25 with a public day dedicated to wetlands, highlighting their importance for the ecosystem and society.
