Réunion Island is a paradise for trail runners. Until 2024, Exsel has supported the Pei trail club Run Passion Trail, which is, in its image, a representation of the Pei talent in which Exsel believes deeply. As part of our partnership, we were delighted to welcome the Run Passion Trail club to the Exsel Créolia hotel. Our hotels regularly welcome runners taking part in major races, including the famous Le Grand Raid event, offering them an ideal setting for preparation and recovery.

For the past ten years, Exsel Hôtels has supported and seen the growth of the world’s biggest beach tennis tournament: the Open International des Brisants.

🎬 Indian Ocean International Film Festival: the Exsel Ermitage at the heart of culture
Exsel Hôtels is proud to support the Indian Ocean International Film Festival. For the 2024 edition, the Exsel Ermitage hotel had the honour of welcoming the actors and directors invited to the International Indian Ocean Film Festival.
The FIFOI, an event that celebrates the cinematic richness of the Indian Ocean, a mission that resonates deeply with Exsel’s values: encouraging exchanges and relationships at the heart of our region.
🌍 Gip Ramsar: The only global treaty covering a single ecosystem.
The Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, better known as the Ramsar Convention, is an international treaty that promotes the conservation and wise use of wetlands. The 16th annual seminar of stakeholders from French Ramsar sites was held from 20 to 25 May 2024 in Saint-Paul, on Reunion Island, near the Étang de Saint-Paul Ramsar site. ¨
For this event, our Exsel Alamanda and Exsel Ermitage hotels, responsible hotels with the Clef Verte label, provided accommodation for members of the RAMSAR congress and La réserve naturelle de France.
🎤 Réuni’son: a unique musical and social experience in Réunion
On Sunday 22 September 2024, the Exsel Floralys hotel in Étang-Salé les Bains was honoured to host the very first Réuni’son, a unique musical event. The aim? To bring together 400 people of all generations, backgrounds and faiths to sing in unison to music created especially for the event. The music, ‘La Limièr’, created by Reunionese artist Tine Poppy, carries a message of hope and joy.
This festive and committed event brought together musicians, volunteers and participants around common values: solidarity, sharing and inclusion.

🎶 Sakifo: one of the biggest music festivals on Reunion Island
Convinced that supporting “Péi” events is essential for the local fabric, Exsel Hôtels is supporting Sakifo, one of the biggest music festivals on Reunion Island and indeed in the Indian Ocean. Every summer, the Sakifo Music Festival gets the island moving. Famous throughout the Indian Ocean, it brings together ‘everything you need’ – ‘Sakifo’ in Réunionese Creole for music lovers: pop, rock, blues, reggae, funk, electro, soul… but also music from Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Every year, Exsel joins forces with the Centre d’Etude et de Découverte des Tortues Marines (CEDTM) and the Groupe local d’observation et d’identification des cétacés (GLOBICE REUNION) to preserve Réunion’s marine fauna.
